Samsung Display and Intel develop scrollable screen for tablet

Samsung Display and Intel are developing tablets with a slider design and a scrollable screen. During yesterday's Intel Innovation 2022 presentation, Samsung Display boss Choi Ju-soon demonstrated a prototype of an unusual computer that can go from a 13-inch tablet to a large 17-inch model.

Choi noted that yesterday it announced the world's first 17-inch sliding screen for PC. The device will allow you to satisfy a variety of requests and provide portability when you need it and a big screen in other cases. It was noted that Samsung opted for a slide-out format rather than a folding flexible display solution, and this serves as indirect confirmation that folding options could eventually disappear from the scene.

Intel has been experimenting with new form factors for years and has been preparing technologies to integrate its solutions with dual-screen and foldable designs before Microsoft abandoned its plans to develop Windows 10X for foldable devices. These form factors require dedicated software and applications to provide the best results. It is true that it is not yet known how Intel intends to promote the introduction of PCs with sliding screens.

The prototype shown by Samsung Display and Intel is actually a 13-inch tablet that converts into a 17-inch all-in-one computer thanks to a sliding mechanism. Intel has already demonstrated Unison software on it, designed to wirelessly connect Intel-based computers to smartphones, including iPhones.

While the sliding computer is just a concept, and when companies can come up with trading options, it is not reported.
