Sony has officially introduced the Xperia 5 IV smartphone. The device received a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 × 2520 pixels and support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen of the novelty was 50% brighter than the screen of its predecessor Xperia 5 III. The novelty also received a more spacious battery and a flagship processor.
The dimensions of the Xperia 5 IV have not changed much. The novelty is 1 mm shorter and narrower than the Xperia 5 III, but at the same time 4 grams heavier. The smartphone's dimensions are 156 × 67 × 8.2 mm and the weight is 172 G. Despite this, the Xperia 5 IV is equipped with a battery with a capacity 10% greater than last year's model. The manufacturer claims that the battery capacity of the new smartphone is 5000 mAh and is now similar to the battery capacity of the Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 10 IV models.
The company notes that in 30 minutes the battery of the new smartphone with the help of a 30-watt charger will be replenished by up to 50%. True, you will have to buy the charger yourself, as Sony has decided not to include it in the package. There is not even a USB cable in the box. On the other hand, the Xperia 5 IV supports wireless charging, the first of the Xperia 5 series smartphones.
On the back of the device is a triple array of 12-megapixel cameras with a 16mm (1/2.5") wide-angle lens, a 24mm (1/1.7") wide-angle lens with 1 .8 µm and a 60 mm (1/2.5") wide-angle lens. 1/2.5" 3.5" telephoto lens. All three have autofocus, while the wide-angle and telephoto lenses also have optical stabilization. Front selfie camera has been expanded to a larger 1/2.9-inch 12-megapixel sensor
The Xperia 5 IV is based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The smartphone has received 8 GB of RAM. The novelty will be offered in configurations with 128 and 256 GB of UFS 3.x standard permanent flash memory.
The smartphone also features a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, DSEE Ultimate and 360 Reality Audio. For the novelty, water and dust resistance according to the IP68 standard is declared, as well as equipment with Gorilla Glass Victus protective glass on both sides.
The Xperia 5 IV will go on sale in mid-September in three colors - green, black and white. In Europe, the device will be offered for €1049. For the US, the novelty costs US$ 999.
