OPPO

Oppo vai parar de enviar carregadores com alguns smartphones no próximo ano

Company follows Apple's trend to refuse to supply chargers

The trend of refusing to supply chargers along with smartphones is gaining traction. Over the next 12 months, Oppo will no longer include chargers in certain devices it sells. According to the Android Authority portal, the plan may initially be implemented in select markets.

Oppo has become one of the last big companies to follow the trend. Until recently, it provided chargers for all smartphones.

Oppo's vice president of overseas sales and service, Billy Zhang, said in an interview that the company will get rid of chargers, but so far only on some products - the corresponding plan will be implemented next year. Although the official did not say which devices will lose the chargers in the kit, he later added that the company will adhere to a certain strategy, according to which in some markets identical models will be shipped without chargers and in others with chargers.

“It's not easy for customers to have access to SuperVOOC chargers, so we have to provide them as a package. However, as the business expands, we are considering eliminating bundled chargers and selling them separately in stores so that our users can buy chargers and continue to use them even after replacing the devices with new ones,” Zhang said. .

Based on the comment, we can conclude that Oppo is considering the availability of SuperVOOC-compatible chargers where the company intends to apply its strategy. Given that Oppo intends to “put chargers in stores”, it is possible that it plans to one day stop supplying them completely in kits.
