APPLE

Apple giant could grab 60% of top-tier smartphone market

This year, Apple's market share for high-end smartphones that cost more than $500 was 55%, and at peak sales it even increased to 60%, according to DigiTimes. The company is expected to be able to establish itself in these positions if the high demand for models from the new iPhone 14 family continues until the end of the year.

According to reports, Apple has asked top iPhone assembler Foxconn to shift some of the production capacity of the iPhone 14 to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models to meet strong consumer demand. At the same time, component manufacturers in Apple's supply chain were not notified of order cuts for any models. It is assumed that Apple could simply adjust the proportion of component shipments for different device models.

When ordering an iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max in different configurations, the expected delivery time is now several weeks, indicating increased demand. At the same time, the entry-level iPhone 14 is not as in demand. The smartphone is available for purchase on the Apple website without any waiting for delivery. In retail stores, the basic smartphone model can also be found without much difficulty.

According to DigiTimes, the real indicator of the level of demand for the iPhone 14 Pro will be the sales results in the first month after the wave of pre-orders. Last year's iPhone 13 Pro is said to have posted "excellent" long-term sales following a flurry of pre-orders, signaling consumer interest is shifting towards older models that get better hardware and more new features.

It is worth remembering that the iPhone 14 has the same screen as the iPhone 13, and its hardware base is the same processor as the iPhone 13 Pro. As for the iPhone 14 Plus, this device has a large 6.7-inch screen and a larger battery.
