Pixel smartphone users report problems with wireless charging

A very significant amount of users who have installed Android 13 on their Pixel smartphones are facing problems with wireless charging, to the point where it stopped working after installing the new version of the operating system.

Using the Reddit forums many users are reporting that their Pixel refuses to work with wireless charging since updating to Android 13. Some used different chargers but nothing helps and the problem persists. Given the feedback, the issue seems to particularly affect the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Users with Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are also noticing this problem. However, it is worth mentioning, that not everyone is affected by this problem.

The exact cause is unclear, but the issue appears to be related to how Android handles charging on Pixel phones. When charging wirelessly (or wired), the software may slow down, or stop charging under certain circumstances. For example, Google automatically limits charging to 80% if a Pixel smartphone is plugged in, or placed on a wireless charger for several days.

In today's case, affected users are reporting that their phone does not respond to a wireless charger, or only charges for a few minutes before shutting down and showing the information that it is not charging.

Google has yet to publicly acknowledge this issue with wireless charging, but several users have not hesitated to report it on their dedicated space.
