Today, an important event in the smartphone industry took place - the world's first mass-produced model with a 200-megapixel camera was presented. This is how the Moto X30 Pro is: lately, the Moto often surpasses Xiaomi and becomes the “first in the world” when it comes to using the latest single-chip systems or image sensors.
The sensor in question is a Samsung HP1. During the presentation, it was noted that the work on the Moto X30 Pro was carried out by experts from Lenovo and Samsung together. The optical format of the Samsung HP1 is 1/1.22 inch. The developers emphasize that this sensor at a higher resolution is larger than the main sensor of the iPhone 13 Pro (1 / 1.68 inch). Additionally, the Samsung HP1 is larger than the 50-megapixel (1/1.28-inch) Sony IMX707 sensor of the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
The 200-megapixel sensor module has a wide-angle lens, there is also an optical image stabilization system. The second module has a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 sensor paired with an ultra wide-angle lens with a 117° field of view, and the third module has a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor and a portrait lens (due to which it provides an optical zoom 2x, is also used for macro photography). The built-in front camera is also notable, using a 60-megapixel image sensor.
Moto X30 Pro is built on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 single-chip platform. It has received a large cooling system with 19,400 mm2 area, LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1.
The curved OLED screen is characterized by a diagonal of 6.67 inches, Full HD+ resolution, 144 Hz frame rate and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. The fingerprint scanner is under the screen.
The Moto X30 Pro received a 4610mAh battery with support for 125W fast charging (full battery charge in 19 minutes). It also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The smartphone setup also includes stereo speakers and an NFC chip. The device thickness is 8.39 mm, weight is 197 grams.
The Moto X30 Pro turned out to be cheap for the “first 200 megapixels”: the cost of the basic version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of flash memory was just US$520. Other options are with 12/256GB for US$595 and 12/512 GB for $640.
Also today, an affordable Moto S30 Pro sub-flagship and Moto RAZR 2022 clamshell smartphone were introduced in China.
