LG Display presented at K-Display 2022 a TV equipped with a 97-inch OLED.EX panel that offers not only greater brightness than traditional solutions, but also a “cinematic level of immersion” thanks to a special sound source that it is not produced by speakers and the vibrating screen itself.
Sound output on the TV is provided by LG's CSO (Cinematic Sound OLED) technology: behind the screen is a thin film driver that makes the screen vibrate and play sound without speakers. According to LG Display, the 5.1-channel system implemented in this way provides the viewer with a "cinematic level of immersion". A bold statement, as there are no rear speakers.
High image quality is guaranteed by OLED EX technology, launched late last year, which uses components with deuterium compounds, resulting in a 30% increase in image brightness over traditional OLED screens. LG Display has called the new product "the biggest OLED TV ever made", but that's not entirely true: in January, the company already announced a lineup with a 97-inch model, but without a vibrating screen - it will cost around $USD. 25k, second for FlatpanelsHD, and for immersive sound you will obviously have to pay more.
