TECH

The physical keyboard gadget with 7-day battery life and 2GHz Media Tek chip

Looking at the features, you will not immediately understand that this is a hybrid button smartphone. The device only provides a modest display size, otherwise the parameters are at the budget segment level. If you really find faults, then in Qin F21 Pro only one SIM card slot (no eSIM support)

The gadget initially does not have a Russian-language interface, but the bootloader is unlocked, which greatly increases the chance of custom firmwares appearing.

The rest of the developers can only be praised, they managed to fit the normal stuffing into a compact body, they even added a front camera for video calls.

For starters, the gadget is very compact and very comfortable to hold in your hands. Dimensions are similar to popular favorites iPhone 5s and first generation iPhone SE. Even the box in which the smartphone arrives from China immediately suggests its modest size. The packaging is almost identical to the dimensions of the gadget.

Controlling the device is easy and familiar, the shell is enhanced for navigation using buttons. No difficulties or obstacles arise during operation. You can scold the developers for not having the most convenient keyboard, which they decided to use in the model.

On the first gadget of the Qin 1S+ line, the buttons occupied the entire bottom of the case. They were separated by a thin slit, forming a monolithic surface. In the new product, all keys became smaller and the distance between them increased. On the one hand, the keyboard area has shrunk, but on the other hand, it is easier to distinguish the keys by touch.

The top of the front panel is occupied by a small screen by today's standards. The diagonal, compared to the first model, has not changed (2.8 inches), but the resolution is no longer the most embarrassing 640×480 pixels. The image of this one looks less grainy and the individual pixels are completely invisible.

The main and most important change was the emergence of an array of sensors…The screen allows you to quickly interact with the system and reach the desired menu item in just a few taps.

Device autonomy strongly depends on the usage scenario. When I set up the smartphone for the first week and tested its capabilities, the battery drained on average in two days with moderate use. When touchscreen usage is minimized, the gadget can easily survive 6-7 days on a single charge.

The main disadvantage of the Qin F21 Pro personally for – it runs on the Android OS… If you install banking clients and some instant messengers without any problems, it is almost impossible to integrate the device into the Apple ecosystem.

I would like to see end-to-end receiving calls and messages on an anti-smartphone, support Apple Watch and AirPods service running Apple Pay and integration with the Finder app (for this you can attach the AirTag to the phone). Well support for example would clearly be helpful.
