Model S12 has a 50MP selfie camera and the new Dimensity 1100 chipset

Vivo has unveiled the vivo S12 series of smartphones, rumored to have surfaced earlier this month. The new series includes the S12 entry-level model and the larger and more powerful S12 Pro smartphone. Both new items are equipped with Dimensity chipsets and dual selfie cameras with dual LED flash (hidden in the screen frame on the sides of the front camera). The company said the flash can be manually adjusted to any color temperature between 3000K and 6000K.

The vivo S12 smartphone features a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate, 180 Hz touch panel sampling rate, and support for HDR10+ technology. A notch at the top of the screen houses a camera with a 44MP sensor (f / 2.0) and an ultra-wide 8MP module (f / 2.3). The Vivo S12 is built on the new Dimensity 1100 chipset, has 8 or 12 GB of RAM and a 256 GB flash drive. OriginOS Ocean OS is used to control the smartphone.

The smartphone's rear camera includes a 108 megapixel main sensor with an f/1.9 aperture lens as well. 8MP ultra wide angle module (f / 2.2) and 2MP depth sensor (f / 2.4) for shooting portraits with bokeh effect. The battery capacity is 4200 mAh, charging is carried out from the adapter with a capacity of up to 44 W. The vivo S12 8/256 GB model costs 2799 Yuan (about $439), while the vivo S12 8/256 GB model costs 2999 Yuan (about $471). Body color – gold, blue, black.

In turn, the S12 Pro is based on the Dimensity 1200 chip. The smartphone is equipped with a larger 6.56-inch AMOLED screen with the same resolution and refresh rate as the younger model. The touch panel sampling rate is 240 Hz.

The smartphone's front camera includes a 50 megapixel sensor (f / 2.0) and an ultra-wide 8 megapixel module (f / 2.3). The rear camera is identical to the S12, including a 108MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide module and a 2MP depth sensor. The battery capacity of the S12 Pro is slightly larger – 4300 mAh. Charging is done with a 44W adapter.

The smartphone is available in three colors (gold, blue and black) priced at 3,399 yuan (about $533) for the version with 8/256GB of memory and 3699 yuan (about $581) for the version with 12/256 GB of memory.
