VIVO

Brand new smartwatch will have durable battery and two chips

Vivo will present next week its future connected watch, the Vivo Watch 2. The Chinese manufacturer has already provided some information about it, before its formalization.

A few days ago, Vivo announced the launch of a new connected watch, the Vivo Watch 2. If the manufacturer provided some information about it – including visuals – we now know more about its future features.

A post online on Chinese social network Weibo In fact, we've learned that Vivo Watch 2 will have not one but two processors. We will thus have a main SoC to which a chip dedicated to Bluetooth communication will be attached. A way for Vivo to distinguish what will depend on the pure performance of the watch and not having everything loaded on the chip that provides the Bluetooth link. Vivo indicates on Weibo that it has spent 10 months optimizing the software to provide autonomy for at least a week. This therefore offers a much longer lasting watch than models with Wear OS or watchOS, usually limited to two or three days of use before requiring a full recharge. In addition, if the classic use announced by Vivo is seven days, the manufacturer goes so far as to promise 14 days of use with energy saving mode.

Vivo Watch 2 will also be equipped with an eSIM chip that allows a priori to make calls directly, even without being connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone. Which also suggests that the watch integrates a speaker and also a microphone to communicate with your interlocutor. The will be officially unveiled on December 22nd.
