Converting an image using the Finder in macOS Monterey
Image Converter is one of the newest features that Apple has added to its macOS Monterey system. To access it we can do this through the Finder. This quick action comes pre-installed with the operating system, so don't worry, you won't need to download anything extra. In addition to converting the selected image, it will also allow us to change the file size as well as modify any of the metadata of the image in question.
To convert the image, do the following:
-To use the Convert image ''To Quick Actions'' function, simply right-click on an image or select multiple images and choose the ''Quick Actions'' option from the context menu.
-Once you are in Quick Actions in the context menu, click on the Convert Image option.
-A dialog window will open. In it, select the format you want to export the image to and the size you want the final product to have. You can choose between small, medium, large and current.
-Tap the box to enable the option to preserve image metadata.
-Finally, click the Convert to [FORMAT] button.
You should now be able to see the newly converted image in the same folder where the originals are located. Of course, this feature won't modify your original images, so don't worry, they'll be safe throughout the entire process. One cool thing is that you can now see QuickAction in the Finder when viewing your images folder, so you can access it even faster than before, in case you need it again in the future.
