Chinese brand has some options for a gadget with a small back screen

Chinese company Oppo offered several one-piece smartphone options with a small auxiliary screen on the back of the case.

Information about the devices is published on the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) website.

In particular, Oppo is considering the possibility of launching a smartphone with a closed quad rear camera in a circular area. A square, rectangular or circular display can be placed between the optical blocks.

Another version of the smartphone provides for the presence of a rectangular rear camera unit. It will combine two optical modules and a flash on top, as well as a screen below these elements.

The secondary rear display will be able to display notifications and other useful information. Also, it serves as a viewfinder when shooting self-portraits with the main rear camera.

Unfortunately, there is still no information about the performance of the front camera. In theory, it could sit behind the screen, allowing for a completely frameless design.
