AWS cloud failure even affects company deliveries
The impact of an Amazon Web Services failure can be worse than you thought. The problem, it turns out, affects not only streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video, but also Amazon's internal applications that power the company's storage robots and delivery service.
Amazon has confirmed that AWS servers in Virginia, USA have been affected by a serious outage. In posts on Reddit, Amazon employees complain that they can't access the features of the AtoZ app, which controls almost everything related to their work. Warehouse officials say that all facilities are closed due to issues with AWS because the warehouse robots were shut down due to an outage. Truck drivers report that, for the first time in a long time, they need to use pen and paper forms to check each load.
According to Bloomberg, three Amazon partners involved in delivering goods to the company's customers said the app they use to communicate with Amazon is down, leaving their vans idle.
The latest information about the accident came from Amazon at 22:26 Moscow time. The company said it is using a series of mitigation measures, but Amazon has not been able to fully restore its servers at this time.
