Company executives denies overheating concerns about its Dimensity 9000 chipset
The company has just announced its Dimensity 9000 processor, aiming to compete with the best flagship chipsets. With its 4nm TSMC process, CPU architecture and impressive imaging capabilities, this chipset definitely has the potential to take the spotlight from Qualcomm and Samsung in 2022.
Earlier this year, Qualcomm's latest 5nm Snapdragon 888 series processors were suffering from overheating...The question arises whether MediaTek has similar overheating issues. However, the company's vice president and general manager of marketing, Finbarr Moynihan, expressed confidence in his processor's merits in an interview with the Android Authority.
''I think everyone understands that the chip (Snapdragon 888 series) didn't deliver the experience that was promised or expected, did it? I would say we are very confident in ourselves. Obviously, we're testing this chip for our key customers and the feedback we've received is also very promising.''...When it comes to comparing devices with what we think our competitor will have, we hope that next year we'll get a power advantage for flagships,” said a company spokesperson. “Of course, we expect all major players to switch to 4nm process technology by 2022 (whether TSMC or Samsung as the manufacturer), which should lead to greater energy efficiency,'' said Moynihan.
“There is only one company with overheating issues at the moment. And it's not us," adds Kevin Keating, MediaTek's global PR director." A competitor (Qualcomm) likes to speculate about this against MediaTek, but we have no problems with overheating, added Keating
Real evidence or denial can only be seen with the launch of next year's flagship smartphones – it remains to wait for device tests with the next-generation Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon chipsets
