My Passport SSD offers up to 2 TB and also resists drops


Western Digital has launched a new My Passport external solid state drive with capacities up to 2 TB. With a compact metal body and high-speed NVMe technology, the new palm-sized device offers users the ability to store and work with protected confidential data.
This new My Passport SSD offers up to 1050 MB / s read and 1000 MB / s write. Supports 256-bit AES hardware encryption for easy password protection. The SSD is resistant to shocks, vibrations and drops of up to 2 meters. Software is included to facilitate the backup of large files to disk or to a cloud service account.



Among the features, we can also highlight the support for USB 3.2 Gen-2 technology, the presence of a USB-C cable and a USB-A adapter in the kit. The My Passport SSD has a five-year limited warranty and is now available in 500 GB (19.99) and 1 TB (89.99) gray color options.
Later this year, there will be 2 TB variants, as well as blue, red and gold versions. The price and the exact time of the launch have not yet been announced.
