5G will provide fixed wireless broadband without the need to use cabling
Counterpoint Technology Market Research forecasts a rapid growth in demand for services called fixed wireless Internet access - Fixed Wireless Access, or FWA.
FWA technology is being considered an alternative to access to wired broadband (BBA). In the case of FWA, data can be exchanged over the cellular network, but the subscriber's terminal usually remains stationary - for example, it is located in the work area.
It is estimated that FWA (4G and 5G cellular networks are considered) now accounts for about 4% of all domestic connections to the Internet. By 2030, according to analysts, almost a third of all domestic Internet connections will use FWA, and the total number of these connections will exceed half a billion.

The growth in popularity of fixed wireless Internet access will be driven by 5G services for high bandwidth and low latency. The number of families connected to the Internet via 5G is expected to increase from 10.3 million this year to 459.1 million in 2030. This raises the CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of this segment to an impressive 45.19%.
It should also be noted that, at the end of 2019, 45.1% of households worldwide had broadband access to the network. Excluding the United States and China, that figure is 28% .
