Galaxy Fold 2 and its powerful Snapdragon 865 Plus processor
Yesterday, August 5, 2020, during the virtual presentation of Galaxy Unpacked 2020, Samsung presented a series of iconic gadgets. Qualcomm Technologies has now commented on the debut of the devices.
Keep in mind that the number of new products includes Galaxy Note20 smartphones, Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 + tablets, as well as a flexible Galaxy Z Fold 2 device in book format. In addition, the latter's technical characteristics remained behind the scenes. This gap was partially filled by Qualcomm.
The Snapdragon 865 Plus is reportedly the heart of the silicon in all of these devices. This chip, in particular, is installed in the Galaxy Note20 Ultra and Note20 devices for the US and China markets, as well as in all regional modifications of the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 +.
In addition, as noted, the Snapdragon 865 Plus product will form the basis of the international version of the flexible Galaxy Z Fold 2. As part of the device, the processor will work in conjunction with the Snapdragon X55 5G modem, responsible for supporting fifth generation cellular networks .
Finally, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is considered to be the first commercial device to be equipped with the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 module. This product was designed to work on Wi-Fi 6 Series networks (including Wi-Fi 6E) in the new frequency range of 6 GHz, which provides data transfer rates of up to 3.6 Gbps. In addition, support for the Bluetooth 5.2 standard has been implemented.
Samsung will release more details about the flexible Galaxy Z Fold 2 during a separate event in September.
