Company adds smart filters to protect children from inappropriate YouTube content

Kaspersky Lab launched an updated version of Kaspersky Safe Kids, a multiplatform solution to ensure the safety of children in the information environment. The product is compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS operating systems and helps prevent the unpleasant consequences of a child's use of digital devices and the Internet.
With the help of Kaspersky Safe Kids, parents can collect statistics about their children's calls and SMS, view detailed reports about their activities on the Internet, monitor their children's activities on social networks, block access to inappropriate content, regulate use of programs on a computer and mobile devices and also restrict when you can use your smartphone and tablet. Thanks to the geolocation function, the application allows you to determine the child's current location. In addition to technical means of protection, the solution also contains a selection of psychological tips that help adults understand the reasons for a particular behavior of children and properly assess the degree of risk for them.
A special feature of the new version of Kaspersky Safe Kids is the “Safe YouTube search” function. It automatically detects which requests a child enters in the video hosting in the browser (on Windows, Android and iOS) or in the official YouTube app for Android. If the request falls into one of six categories - alcohol, tobacco, drugs, profanity, racism or adult videos - instead of broadcasting, the child will see an outline warning that the topic is not safe. In addition, the program allows parents to track the child's search history on YouTube and notify if they are looking for something suspicious there.
