EHANG

Chinese company already working on an ambulance drone project

Sometimes it takes minutes to save a person's life. In such situations, the city's traffic jams are a phrase. So, ambulance aviation can come to the rescue, and under city conditions - promising unmanned air transport. Under the auspices of ICAO, medical drones began to be developed three years ago. Today, the Chinese air taxi developer, EHang, has been invited to the international project Ambular.
In a press release, EHang said the company's experience will assist in the development of a flying ambulance for emergency medical services. For the international project, EHang will provide proprietary developments, such as rotors and engines, to help design the power unit for unmanned aerial sanitary vehicles.
In China, EHang has already started to market unmanned taxi air transport and is developing for the transport of goods and service vehicles, such as firefighters to extinguish tall buildings.
It is interesting to add that in February of this year in China, EHang already implemented a pilot project for delivering medical and medical supplies in unmanned aerial vehicles. The project was launched in connection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic as a response to the introduction of quarantine measures and movement restrictions. Thus, the company already has some experience in organizing unmanned ambulances, so the Ambular project will only count on the participation of EHang.
