British startup Wirex is the first cryptocurrency platform to use the Mastercard payment network

Mastercard announced the expansion of its cryptocurrency program, simplifying and streamlining partners to bring secure and compatible payment cards to the market.
In this regard, the company urged all partners involved in the field of cryptocurrencies and cryptographic cards to join the Mastercard Accelerate program, which provides new brands and fintech startups with access to everything needed for their rapid growth.
Another important announcement was also made. British startup Wirex has become the first native cryptocurrency platform to receive full membership in the Mastercard payment system, which allows you to directly issue payment cards.
Over the past 18 months, Wirex, regulated by the UK Financial Supervisory and Regulatory Authority and licensed to issue cards in Europe, has been expanding rapidly thanks to a successful expansion in the Asia Pacific region and the launch of its own Wirex token (WXT). A little later this year, the company plans to launch a new generation of Wirex cards for customers in Europe, with support for additional fiat currencies and the possibility of free withdrawals from ATMs worldwide. Wirex also plans to launch corporate cards for Wirex Business customers.
Expanding the program for cryptographic partners, Mastercard simplified the approval process to reduce the time needed to launch affiliate products on the market, while maintaining adherence to the principles of cooperation, including reliable consumer protection and guaranteeing equal rights for all participants of market.
