Pixel 4a will have a larger battery capacity than the Pixel 3a, Pixel 3 and Pixel 4; 18 W fast charging remains

The Google Pixel 4a has popped up at the NCC in Taiwan, confirming the device's battery capacity. According to the listing, the Pixel 4a will have a larger battery than not only the Pixel 3a, but also the Pixel 3 and Pixel 4. Google is sticking with 18 W fast charging for its next mid-range smartphone, though.
Google is yet to announce the Pixel 4a despite having discontinued its predecessor. Nonetheless, the NCC in Taiwan has confirmed that the device has a slightly larger battery than the Pixel 3a. Listed as the G025J, this appears to be the US model that the FCC also recently certified.
According to the NCC, the Pixel 4a has a typical battery capacity of 3,140 mAh, while its rated capacity is slightly lower at 3,080 mAh. Incidentally, this means that the Pixel 4a will have a larger battery capacity than the Pixel 3 and Pixel 4, not just the Pixel 3a. The device will also support 18 W fast charging, which is the same wattage of which the Pixel 3a was capable. The NCC also revealed a look at the Pixel 4a's charger, but it is nothing noteworthy.

The Pixel 4a has also been confirmed to support up to 802.11 ac Wi-Fi. Additionally, it is expected to feature a Snapdragon 730 SoC, along with 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. Two colour options may be on the way too, although the 5.8-inch device will apparently not be joined by an XL model this year.
Google is yet to drop any hints as to when it will release the Pixel 4a. However, the expiry of the short-term confidentiality agreement between Google and the FCC suggests that the device will arrive before the end of September.
