Xiaomi failed to find out why users complain about the sound on the Mi 10

Recently, user messages have started to appear on the official Xiaomi forum, which says that after upgrading from MIUI 12 to version 6.16 on Mi 10 smartphones, the speaker volume has become lower than in version 5.24. The company conducted tests and responded to major device users with complaints.
To determine the nature of the problem, Xiaomi engineers working on MIUI contacted the owners of the Mi 10, who complained about the insufficient volume and made visits to compare the volume of audio playback with a similar smartphone running on the version previous software. As it turned out, the volume of the speaker was exactly the same. The engineers then delivered the devices to a special anechoic room at the company. The results have not been changed.



Experts measured the volume of sound reproduction in each of the divisions of the volume scale and the frequency response curve(image above). The results were considered identical for all devices. The MIUI team reported that the configuration of the sound configuration has not changed since April.
It is unclear why some users have decided that their smartphones have started to appear quieter, but the scrupulousness with which Xiaomi experts arrived to discover the causes of the problem is impressive. Obviously, the Chinese company is not doing well with the software, but the efforts with which it is trying to solve all users' problems are clearly visible.
