Trailer for the ambitious film adaptation of Isaac Asimov's new series “Foundation” for Apple TV +

Apple released the first trailer for the Foundation's large-scale series for the Apple TV + subscription service, which will film a series of iconic science fiction novels by Isaac Asimov. In 1966, the original trilogy won the Hugo Award for the best science fiction series of all time.
The trailer begins with the words of the project's executive producer, David Goyer: “People have been trying to make The Base for over fifty years. These novels, for example, had a huge impact on Star Wars. This is the greatest science fiction work of all time. History is expanding, the scope is expanding, events have unfolded over a thousand years. If there was ever a company that hoped to improve people's lives through technology and communication, this is Apple. And this is very close to the ideas expressed by Asimov. "
The program is scheduled for next year, as it was necessary to suspend the work of adapting the film because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Jared Harris will play the lead role of Hari Seldon, a mathematics professor who developed the theory of "psycho-history", which predicted the inevitable collapse of the Galactic Empire that rules the Milky Way and the beginning of the Dark Ages. With this knowledge, Seldon creates the organization "Foundation", which is called according to the thousand-year plan to revive civilization. The adaptation of the science fiction work was produced by Isaac Asimov's daughter, Robyn Asimov, along with David Goyer (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds). The latter are also co-authors of the scripts for various episodes.
