Russian “smart” energy meters will allow you to remotely turn off electricity

Roselectronika Holding, owned by the state company Rostec, together with the Industrial Development Fund (FRP), launched the first in Russia the production of intelligent devices for measuring electricity.
Smart meters will be able to automatically collect and transmit readings to the data operator. At the same time, users will be able to track energy consumption and pay for services through a mobile app.
In the future, it is planned to expand the functionality of measuring devices. In particular, it will be possible to disconnect electricity remotely in individual rooms in the apartment - for example, if residents forget to turn off the iron or the electric stove.
It is important to note that the meters are based on domestic components and software. The production of smart measuring devices was organized at the Istok Research and Production Company under the name of Shokin (part of Roselectronics) with the help of a soft FRP loan.
