DxOMark: The OnePlus 8 Pro offers audio performance on par with the Galaxy S20 and Pixel 4
After going through the website's rigorous camera tests—and performing impressively—the OnePlus 8 Pro has now also been subjected to DxOMark's audio tests. It is, at the very least, competitive, as it compares nicely to other flagships like the S20+ and Pixel 4.
After weeks of waiting, DxOMark finally published its review of the OnePlus 8 Pro's cameras last week. The phone performed well, breaking into the website's top ten ahead of the Galaxy S20+ and iPhone 11 Pro Max but below other juggernauts like the Mi 10 Pro and S20 Ultra. DxOMark has now evaluated the OnePlus 8 Pro's audio capabilities and found them comparable to the competition.
The OnePlus 8 Pro recorded an overall score of 67, in the same bracket as the Galaxy Note 10+ (66), Galaxy S20+ (66), and Google Pixel 4 (68). It's a slight improvement on the OnePlus 7 Pro (65), too. That score of 67 is split into the Playback and Recording categories, with the OnePlus 8 Pro earning scores of 68 and 63 respectively.
Those scores are equally competitive, so it's not a case of the phone having great playback and poor recording—or vice-versa—like we've seen with a few other phones in DxOMark's tests.
Overall, it would appear that OnePlus has managed to deliver a proper flagship phone with the OnePlus 8 Pro, both in terms of audio and cameras—and that's no easy feat.
