Google Play Pass launches, gives you access to 100s of apps for $1.99*/month

Google Play Pass is official! Yes, Google‘s version of Apple Arcade (which was announced during the iPhone 11 event) for Android users is now official and it grants access to hundreds of premium paid apps for just $1.99 per month!
Play Pass is priced at $1.99/month in the US for the first year and $4.99/month later. The discounted price will no longer be available if you cancel your subscription mid-way and want to renew it later. The service will roll out in the US starting this week and additional countries soon.
The subscription service grants you access to games and apps that are completely unlocked – no ads, no in-app purchases, no upfront payments. There is a catalog of apps under Play Pass which includes games like Monument Valley, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, LIMBO, Old Man’s Journey, and Lumino City. There are also paid apps such as AccuWeather. Google says there will be new
additions every month.

The Play Store will have a Play Pass Tab to make finding apps easier. Supported apps and games will also have the Play Pass ticket if you decide to search instead. The service can also be shared with up to five family members by family managers and individually downloaded games don’t affect the experience of others.
While Apple’s Arcade is only for games, Play Pass is for apps and games. The Apple Arcade announcement was a big deal as Apple announced big-name developers and publishers like Capcom and Konami will be making exclusive games for the platform. We hope Google Play Pass also gets exclusive games in the future.
