Supertest: Galaxy Note 10 vs Galaxy S10+
For the first time, with the Galaxy Note 10 line-up, Samsung released more than one Note device at once. We got the Galaxy Note 10 and its Plus version, plus the 5G variants for both devices. The presence of two devices with very different specifications in the same flagship made up a lot of people wonder whether they should choose the base model of the new Galaxy Note series or the most advanced variant of the Galaxy S series, similar to what happened with the iPhone XR and the iPhone X. So, which one should you choose? The top-tier model from the older line-up or the base model from the most recent one? We anticipate that it depends essentially on your personal needs and there is not a device which is universally better than the other: this comparison between Note 10 and Galaxy S10 + will clear your ideas.
Design
When it comes to aesthetics, it is all about tastes. The Samsung Galaxy S10 + has a more rounded shape, while Samsung Note 10 comes with a more serious and professional design. I prefer the latter because it has a more symmetric display thanks to the front camera placed in the middle, a higher screen-to-body ratio as well as a cleaner glass back with a less invasive camera module placed on the upper left part. It is even a more compact and lightweight handset, despite it integrates an S Pen which allows handwriting and drawing. The renewed S Pen can also be used as a motion controller thanks to a gyroscope, an accelerometer, and the Bluetooth connectivity. It allows controlling the phone via gestures without even touching the display.
Display
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is not able to beat the Samsung Galaxy S10 + on the display side. In order to ensure a more affordable price, Samsung decided to equip the Note 10 with a Full HD + panel instead of a 2K one, while the Galaxy S10 + has a higher Quad HD + resolution and a higher level of detail. Note 10 still has an amazing display, but given the lower level of detail, it can not compete with its rivals. However, note that the Galaxy Note 10 is the only one that supports the S Pen and all its advanced features.
Specs & Software
In the European version, Note 10 has a better chipset built at 7 nm which guarantees more speed and efficiency. However, the Galaxy S10 comes in a better memory configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. Further, the Galaxy S10 + features an expansion slot, while the Note 10 does not. When it comes to the U.S. and Chinese version of the handsets, we got the same chipsets, just the Galaxy S10 + wins due to its memory configurations and the lack of a micro SD slot inside its opponent.
Camera
Due to focal brighter apertures and improved OIS, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 wins the rear camera comparison. But if we talk about selfies, then Galaxy S10 + is way better as it features a dual front camera with a brighter aperture instead of a single camera like the Galaxy Note 10.
Battery
Samsung Galaxy S10 + has a bigger battery than Note 10 and it lasts a lot more on a single charge. Both feature wireless charging, but when it comes to traditional wired charging, Note 10 is faster due to higher power and lower battery capacity.

Price
Samsung Galaxy S10 + carries an € 830 / $ 940 listing price in its base variant (now it's more affordable thanks to street prices) while Samsung Galaxy Note 10 starts from € 950 / $ 1075. If you want a better multimedia experience, more performances, and longer battery life, Samsung Galaxy S10 + is the best choice for you. Samsung Note 10 wins when it comes to camera quality, it offers the S Pen, and it has a slightly more optimized design. But overall (if you don't need the S Pen) I think the Galaxy S10 + has more strong points.
