Google Maps AR navigation to hit non-Pixel phones soon

AR-assisted navigation is one of the most interesting - and possibly useful - aspects of the Google Maps app to be unveiled in recent years. Unfortunately, it was also introduced as a Pixel exclusive. Now, however, it may be available on a wider range of phones soon.
Live View is a feature of Google Maps that uses augmented-reality arrows and other animations to guide a user around an unfamiliar area such as a city. The Mountain View software giant's latest blog post on this app has announced that it is becoming available as a beta to all Android and iOS devices, so long as they support ARCore and ARKit.
That's not all, though: this statement also introduces the Reservations tab, which absorbs information on a user's bookings into this new facet of Google Maps on a per-journey basis. The company has also mentioned that this feature will also be available offline which may turn out to be particularly helpful.
Google has also unveiled the Your Match update for Maps. It matches restaurants in a given area to preferences specified by the user. This app will also display an upgraded Timeline soon, which will allow the user to share such information with friends, export selections to a List or add notes. Some of these new options may require that Google Location History stays on, however.
