Redmond Giant relaunches Office application for Windows 10
The new version of Office for Windows 10 is designed to be more useful, serving as a hub for quick access to the latest documents, easier choice of applications, and more.
The application is free and will replace the My Office app used so far. This new version also allows users to search for additional free Office tools and applications on their network. This means that you will not be required to subscribe to the Office 365 online service, as the app becomes an integral part of Windows 10 and comes pre-installed.
According to The Verge, the new application introduces new tutorials as well as tips and tricks for different Office applications and services. Although the My Office app contains similar applications, its design was not appealing enough to encourage users to discover free versions of applications without even knowing they exist, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Not to mention that with the old app, many users asserted that Office was an integral part of Windows until they bumped into the registry when they tried to use it. The new app aims to make the experience more transparent. You can do the free upgrade of the app on the Microsoft website.
