Inteligência artificial "vai transformar 100% dos empregos"Artificial intelligence "will transform 100% of Jobs"
Artificial intelligence (AI) will transform "100% of jobs," IBM chief executive Ginni Rometty said at the opening of the company's annual event where cloud solutions and the Watson supercomputer are highlighted.
Rometty addressed the discussion at the beginning of IBM Think about the impact of artificial intelligence on work, noting that "just like any other technology" some jobs will be eliminated and others created, but the difference will be that all jobs will be transformed.
"At the same time, we have a capacity crisis," said the CEO, recalling that there are seven million unfilled jobs in the United States in the technology area and that this is "also happening in all countries" represented at the hearing.
At a time when the effects of automation and ethics on new technologies are being debated, IBM has created a three-pronged code of conduct for the age of artificial intelligence to foster "trust and transparency," Rometty said.
One of the principles states that "the aim of all these technologies is to increase the human being, not replace it," another clarifies that users should maintain sovereignty over their data and a third party establishes the need to ensure that new technologies are opened , explicable and free from prejudice.
"Being trustworthy also means preparing society to live and work in this age so that no one is left behind," said Ginni Rometty, stressing the need for "everyone to have a great job in this age."
The technology manager known as "Big Blue" announced that the company has created a "re-entry" program for people who have had careers in technology, but have stopped working for several years and have left the professional circuit.
One of the beneficiaries of the program was Priti Shah, who stopped working to devote himself to children and two decades later returned to a career in software development through this initiative.
"Capabilities are going to be as important as a college degree," said Ginni Rometty, who also presented the career retraining case for veteran veteran Brian Thompson.
The CEO of IBM said the business community is entering "the second chapter of digital and artificial intelligence," with the transition from more applications and workflows to the cloud and the integration of AI into systems that until now they have not been touched by this type of technology.
The IBM Think 2019 event is taking place in San Francisco, California with the presence of 26,000 participants from 180 countries, including Portugal. Lusa Agency
