Apple shows 'heavy hand' Facebook abuse
Apple has decided to block Facebook's internal apps from the iOS operating system. The measure makes you feel not only in early versions of Facebook, Instagram and Messenger apps mkas also in applications of the own collaborators of the company of Mark Zuckerberg.
This is Apple's reaction to news reports that Facebook collected user data through an app that was not distributed through the App Store. The app in question was sent to participants of the Facebook program and used special certificates that, in a normal situation, are only available to developers.
For Apple, Facebook's practice is "a clear violation of the agreement" with the company and upholds the measure as a way to "protect our users and their data." The Verge says that this Apple lock is being seen critically within Facebook, hopefully the situation will have more developments.
Google has not been indifferent to this 'punishment' applied to Facebook, taking the initiative to cancel an application of yours - Screenwise Meter - which, like Facebook, also collects data voluntarily using special certificates.
"The Screenwise Meter app for iOS should not have operated as part of Apple's developer program - this was a mistake and we're sorry. We should have blocked the app on iOS devices. This app is completely voluntary and always was. We have been front to the users about how we use their data in this app, we do not access data encrypted in apps and devices and users can decide to leave the program at any time, "read in the statement shared by Google with TechCrunch, which published the original story.
