Analysts have no doubts. Switch to be the best-selling console of 2019
With the start of a new year is the right time to make predictions and, not being prayed, several analysts have advanced with forecasts that Nintendo's Switch will be the best selling console in 2019. Moreover, the same analysts have again predicted that the technology will launch a new console version.
"I expect the video game market to grow again in 2019, sustained by continued growth in paid digital content and strong video game performance on the Nintendo Switch," said IHS Markit analyst Piers Harding-Rolls. "The Switch will be the best-selling console in 2019 as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One enter the final phase of their lifecycles."
But analyst Serkan Toto of Kantan Games pointed to the release of a new version of Switch, echoing the rumors advanced by the Wall Street Journal. Eurogamer notes that Toto has yet to add its own forecast. "While The Wall Street Journal has already reported that a Switch Pro for 2019 is under development, I also believe that Nintendo will offer a Switch Lite (or will keep the current version at a reduced price)," Toto said.
