Galaxy S9 will leave thinner iPhone
According to the portal ETNews, Samsung will sell to Apple a display technology called Y-OCTA. The American technology will have to implement it in the equipment that it reveals in 2019, which will allow it to gain space, thus facilitating the "slimming" of the iPhone.
This technology is currently used in the Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Oppo Find X.
Apple's smartphones have long had South Korean brand technology, but this is the first time that the Y-OCTA is part of a trade agreement between the two parties. The displays in this category are thinner, lighter and cheaper to produce than conventional solutions. This is because screens have a built-in touch-sensitive layer, which eliminates the need to create additional layers (one for the screen, another for touch-sensitive material and a third for protective glass).
The international press claims that this technology was essential in maintaining the commercial links that unite Samsung and Apple, since the American company wants to depend less and less on the competitor. Sapo
