APPLE
Everything points to the fact that the next iPhone will not have 5G connectivity
The next generation of iPhone will arrive, most likely, without 5G connectivity. We talked about it last month after a report by the popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and after learning that the production of modems with this technology by Intel would not reach its point of sale in 2019, and now new information again put in relevance this aspect.
Bloomberg does it in a publication in which he cites sources close to the company's plans, ensuring that it will not be until at least 2020 when Apple begins to implement such connectivity on their smartphones. This would give several of the companies in the competition a significant margin in which to have 5G in their devices and make use of it as one of the sales arguments that are positioned as most relevant in terms of marketing during the next year.
Apple, meanwhile, has the advantage of playing with a base of loyal customers who will not see in the absence of the 5G in the next model a reason to switch to one of the terminals of the Android landscape. Do not forget, in addition, that although 5G connectivity is considered one of the largest steps in the industry its use will be residual during the initial deployment stage.
Intel's fault?
The big culprit of the delay, at this point, seems Intel and the impossibility of getting the 8160 modem ready for an implementation in the 2019 iPhone. Still, it is not clear that the company in Cupertino would have chosen to include it in its next renewal of terminals. H. T.
