Xiaomi: 100 milhões de smartphones vendidos em 10 meses
100 million smartphones sold in 10 months

Xiaomi's meteoric growth can be translated into numbers: the Chinese manufacturer's goal was to reach the 100 million smartphones sold in a year, but it took only 10 months to register that brand. This means a growth of 43% over the same period last year, having launched 70 million smartphones during the first 10 months.Although the sales numbers are surprising, they contrast with a not so happy performance of their actions, which since their debut in Hong Kong in June, have decreased 30%.According to the South China Morning Post, in the second quarter, Xiaomi posted a 49% growth in equipment distribution, contrasting with a 1.8% decline in global smartphone distribution. Regarding sales, which include not only smartphones as well as other electronic devices, there was a growth of 68.3%, to a value of 6.5 billion dollars. This growth allowed Xiaomi to fortify the fourth place of global distribution, behind Samsung, Huawei and Apple. Oppo remains fifth among the giants of mobile technology. With a saturated Chinese market, Xiaomi has made efforts to expand to the West, becoming the leading sales in India in recent quarters, which is considered to be the second largest smartphone market in the world. As far as Europe is concerned, the brand is opening new stores and expanding its online presence.
