New Android harms smartphone from Google

Google has recently released the new version of its operating system, the Android 9 Pie, which, unannounced, appears to have disabled the ability to quickly load the Pixel XL launched in 2016.
Android Police says that some smartphone users are reporting the error to Google which, despite being aware of what happened, does not seem to be ready to fix it for now. Given that Android 9 Pie is still in beta, it is likely that the problem can be resolved at a later stage.
Still, it is still problematic to see that Google's own smartphone users are being harmed by an official update.
