Zeiss and Pure View: HMD has plans to resurrect the golden age of Nokia cameras
Do you remember the Lumia 1020? The Nokia smartphone that included a camera with 41 megapixels? The equipment was the pinnacle of the Lumia era, where mobile phones featured eye-catching cameras with hard-to-compete numbers, and HMD plans to resurrect the brand that was synonymous with quality at the time.According to the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union, the Finnish trademark acquired the rights to commercial exploitation of PureView. The term began to be used when launching the Nokia 808 PureView and was indicative that the smartphone had a powerful camera in the rear. With this deal, HMD, which is now responsible for the production and marketing of Nokia smartphones, could revive a brand that was strongly associated with the history of the Finnish company. It is recalled that the company recently resurrected the partnership with Zeiss, which for many years manufactured the lenses of the cameras of Nokia phones.Articulating the Nokia, PureView and Zeiss brands can represent a competitive advantage for HMD, which thus seems to be betting on the quality and nostalgia factors to leverage sales of the next mobile handsets they produce.
