Silicon Valley continua a dominar como polo tecnológico, mas os chineses andam por aí…
Silicon Valley continues to dominate as a technological hub, but the Chinese are out there ...CB Insights has developed a study centered on the zones of the globe where the greatest technological activities are recorded. Through its research platform, based on algorithms based on machine learning, the company added information based on funding and startups, highlighting the areas where more business is done around technology. That is, the "nests" where the "unicorns" are born. The report highlights the domain of Silicon Valley, which since 2012 has seen more than 12,000 businesses made by 7,000,000 companies. The pole has done more business in the technology area than all of the metropolis outside the United States combined.Second comes New York with 5,252 businesses and then London with 2,982 - which is the only European city in the Top 10 in this period.

The study refers to the positioning of Beijing and Shanghai in the top 10 cities, the first ranking fifth with almost 2,000 businesses and the second in seventh with approximately 1,800. The two cities were the fastest growing, surpassing Seattle (8th) and Paris (12th) in 2017, thanks to startups like Didi, Toutiao, Mobike and Ele.me.With regard to financing, Silicon Valley companies raised a total of $ 140 billion, followed by Beijing with $ 75 billion. It follows New York with 36 billion and Shanghai with 23 billion. As for foreign investment, the city of Tel Aviv was the most outstanding, with 71% attracting American and European investors. London with 44% and Silicon Valley with 24% take the podium of foreign investment.

Finally, the study stresses the division between American and Chinese cities in the four major cities generating "unicorns." Silicon Valley introduced 57 "unicorns," followed by Beijing with 29, New York with 13 and Shanghai with 11. In the first quarter of 2018, the two Chinese cities "gave birth to three" unicorns, the same number as Silicon Valley.
