This is the submarine that Elon Musk designed to assist in the rescue of Thai children
A few days after making his companies' knowledge and resources available for the rescue of the 12 children trapped in a cave in Chiang Rai, Thailand, Elon Musk showed progress in developing the proposed mission vehicle. Although four boys have already been evacuated, and the use of the small submarine created by SpaceX is not certain, the technology may be used in other rescue missions that are made under similar conditions. It is recalled that on June 23, 12 boys, aged between 11 and 16, as a football coach of the team where they played, aged 25, entered a cavernous complex that prevented them from leaving after several tunnels have been flooded following heavy rains. The group's location was only discovered on July 2 and when a user appealed to Elon Musk to get involved in the rescue mission, the businessman shared several ideas that quickly reached the Thai authorities. Musk quickly announced that a group of engineers had been brought in contact with the rescue teams and said later that the group was in transit to meet with those same teams in Thailand. After receiving feedback from the engineers at SpaceX and Boring Company, the entrepreneur said he had a solution about to be completed. This solution consists of a small submarine, large enough to carry a child, which can be loaded manually by the divers who are watching the mission. And it was tested to pass in narrow places.

Musk explained that the vehicle consists of a small capsule, coated with two layers of Kevlar and Teflon, which allows it to slide on the rocky surfaces. Then an air tank was added at the tip of the submarine and a tail valve, which would allow children to breathe without any diving training, as initially planned.
The prototype was tested in a swimming pool with subjects who did not have any diving training.
Note that four of the 12 boys trapped in the cave have already been evacuated, leaving eight boys and the trainer now. The team involved in the mission is composed of 90 divers and several engineers from various parts of the globe.
The submarine has not yet arrived in Thailand, but Musk has assured it "is on its way". It is not certain that the capsule is used to rescue any of the children, but the vehicle will be available for use.
