China to guard big cities with robotic birds
The South China Morning Post says the Chinese government intends to use robotic birds to watch over its citizens, with sources saying that the small drones have already been tested in at least five provinces by government and military agencies. The drones are known as 'Doves' and are equipped with high definition camera, GPS antenna, air control system and also data connection with communication satellites. They weigh about 200 grams, have a wingspan of approximately 50 centimeters and can fly up to 40km / h for 30 minutes.Given that China is a pioneer in surveillance systems, it is to be hoped that these drones will even be used by the Chinese government. Recall that Chinese authorities already make use of face recognition glasses, with the same software to be applied to the surveillance cameras of the Beijing metro network.
