Project created autonomous boats capable of transforming into bridges
A team of researchers from MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) have created boats that are capable of navigating independently and together can serve as bridges or platforms for events.
Boats, created using 3D printing, have an unconventional rectangular structure in boats but, for example, they allow them to move sideways. Of course, each of the four sides of these structures has a propeller that helps it to move in accordance with the trajectory outlined by the AI systems. The team has admitted that there is still work to be done before these models are converted into real boats, and before that time a number of full-scale tests will have to be done. Below you can see one of these autonomous boats in operation.
