Intel volta a adiar chegada ao mercado de chips de 10 nanómetrosIntel to delay post-market 10-nanometer chips
The last promise was for the end of 2018, but that will not happen. In the fourth postponement since plans were unveiled, Intel's predictions of the arrival of new chips manufactured on a 10-nanometer basis have now changed to 2019.The announcement was made during the company's most recent fiscal report for the first quarter of 2018. Between January and March, Intel posted $ 16.1 billion in revenue and $ 4.5 billion in profit - which grew 50% over the previous year.In September of last year, the company had already postponed the arrival of the Cannon Lake generation for "late 2018". Now it is expected that the mass production of the new chips will only be made in 2019. According to Engagdet, the distribution of small volumes has already begun. It should be noted that Intel has already released information on the line that will succeed Cannon Lake, although without advancing launch forecasts. The future generation of chips takes the name of Ice Lake and will be manufactured in a second version of the same process of 10nm.
