Huawei: "In the future only 3 or 4 smartphone manufacturers will survive"
With a market as competitive as that of smartphones, it can be tricky for manufacturers of these devices to make a profit, and more than likely in the long run there will be many who will be on the way. This was the idea behind Huawei CEO Richard Yu's talk with Reuters."In the future only 3 or 4 smartphone manufacturers will survive, perhaps only less than four. If your market share is less than 10% you can not make a profit. More than 10% can make up the cost and over 15% can make money, "explained Yu in a conversation with the news agency about the Mobile World Congress event currently taking place in Barcelona.Huawei is currently the third-largest smartphone maker, still not far behind Apple (2nd place) and Samsung (1st place). During the conversation Yu also said that Huawei will launch the first smartphone compatible with 5G network later this year, quite possibly being the next device in the Mate line.
