Samsung TVs vulnerable to hackers, research says
An investigation by Consumer Reports points to security flaws on Samsung's smart TVs and Roku's pits, indicating that they can easily be hacked by hackers.
Once hacked remotely, hackers can change channels and volume, install applications and even play inappropriate content through such applications. Fortunately it seems that security holes do not allow hackers to steal personal information.
"Samsung's smart TVs try to ensure that only authorized applications can control the television. Unfortunately, the mechanism they use to ensure applications have been previously authorized is defective. It's as if a door that you opened would never close again, "writes a Disconnect engineer, Eason Goodale.
