As a streaming service, you may find that Netflix only works while you are connected to the internet, and even if that is the case, you are expected to be able to use the service offline. For this, however, you must make use of the option to download the contents.
Netflix has this capability in the mobile app. To do so, you must choose a movie / series / documentary and you will see the button on the right side to download the episode. Once you've downloaded the content, you can access it from the left sidebar in the 'My downloads' section.Please note that not all Netflix content is available for download due to licensing issues. It should also be noted that even if you download the entire season of a series there are no guarantees that it will be available indefinitely, because there is always content to 'get in' and 'leave' from Netflix.
