Drone sets new record by flying almost 5 hours in a row
Created by the European company Quaternium, the quadricopter HYBRiX.20 RPA was designed in 2014 and the first model was built in 2015. Now the company says that a flight time has been made that "beats any other previously accomplished".
The HYBRiX.20 is a fuel-electric aircraft, which means it uses a mixed fuel-powered engine and electric power system. The incorporation of this hybrid power technology guarantees a greater autonomy to the equipment.
With 125 Li-Po (lithium polymer) batteries, the drone has two two-stroke combustion engines fueled by 95 octane (io) gasoline, the so-called premium gasoline, which can carry a payload of up to 2.5 kilogram and weighing 13,5 kilograms.

The equipment, which can reach a top speed of 80 km/h, also has a pair of LCD screens that allow greater control of the flight.
The US company, Skyfront, had flown a 4-hour, 34-minute flight in September with its TAILWIND hybrid drone.
