Instagram: Personal data of robbery victims are on sale

The personal data obtained following the invasion of Instagram by an unknown group of hackers are for sale. The stolen data belongs to some of the most followed users of the social network, including names like Emma Watson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Harry Styles, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Floyd Mayweather or Neymar.
Personal data includes not only e-mail addresses but also telephone numbers and is available for purchase in a database created for the purpose of Doxagram name. Although it has confirmed the theft of this data and that the victims are among the most followed users of the plataform, The Verge notes that Instagram refuses to specify the number of accounts affected.
"We encourage people to remain vigilant regarding the security of their accounts and be careful if they find any suspicious activity such as calls, messages and unknown emails. The safety of our community is important to us and we are very sorry that this has happened, "said Mike Krieger, co-founder of Instagram.
