Huawei and Intel complete 5G independent first call test
Huawei and Intel claim to have conducted the first independent first call call in 5G, thereby completing the entire 3GPP Release-15 protocol process. According to the companies last Friday, 28, the test was done in the laboratory of the China promotion group IMT-2020 during the third phase of the battery of research and development tests for the fifth generation organized by the group. The Chinese company provided the base station and core network in standardizing the R15 of the 5G, while the North American manufacturer provided the third-generation "5G Mobile" testing platform. The companies used the 3.5 GHz band, which is in the public consultation of the Anatel Spectrum and Orbit Committee (which also covers the 2.3 GHz band) for a possible first 5G spectrum auction in 2019. The collection of subsidies will be closed on November 5.Huawei and Intel also tested the full stack initial access, registration and establishment of the radio bearer with RRC NR and the protocol stack 5GC NAS based on the non-standalone architecture of the 3GPP standard, thus completing what they claim to be the first independent call . The companies consider that the test results were successful. Suppliers have been working on other projects to advance the development of 5G, including laboratory testing and interoperability.
