Squid Game 3: the games begin again
If you're a fan of "Squid Game," the South Korean series that took the world by storm, we have some news for you. Netflix has just released the first teaser trailer for the final season, and it looks like the action and drama are back in full force. Get ready for more deadly games and unexpected twists.
The teaser gives a clear clue as to what's going to happen: the games are going to start again. This happens after a failed attempt at a revolt led by the series' protagonist, Seong Gi-hun, also known as Player 456. The second season ended with a cliffhanger, but it already hinted that the rebellion wouldn't be enough to end the games immediately.
The short video released by Netflix shows some scenes that promise to keep you glued to the screen. In one of them, we see Player 456 being brought back to a room full of other participants, inside a coffin — an image that refers to the fate of the eliminated players. After waking up, the games resume.
The teaser also shows the players being separated into groups, and in one particularly moving moment, a mother and her child are separated. At the end of the video, a baby is heard crying, a curious detail that adds a layer of mystery and vulnerability to the brutal setting of the games.
In addition to the players, the teaser gives us glimpses of other important characters. We see Jun-ho, the police officer who searches the island where the games are held, in his ongoing search. And also In-ho, Jun-ho’s brother, who reprises his role as the Games Leader (Front Man) after pretending to be a player in the previous season. His presence confirms that the organization behind the games is still active and in control.
For those unfamiliar, “Squid Game” is a Korean survival thriller that explores deep themes such as class struggle and social inequality. The story centers on ordinary people, often drowning in debt and desperate for money, who are taken to a secret facility where they are forced to participate in children’s games. The twist? In these games, losing means death. Only one player can win the ultimate prize – a huge sum of money accumulated by the participants. Everyone else… well, fate is doomed. Seong Gi-hun, the winner of the first season, has chosen to return for a new round, not for the money, but to dismantle the organization that runs these macabre games.
The final season, coming soon, will show the culmination of Gi-hun’s efforts to dismantle this structure. Will he succeed? Or will the games be unstoppable? The teaser suggests that the path will be anything but easy. The wait for the conclusion of this intense story is almost over. The final season of “Squid Game” hits Netflix on June 27. Get ready to find out how this saga of survival and social commentary ends.
