Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 could go toe-to-toe with Motorola Razr 60 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite and larger battery

According to new reports, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is now set in stone for the Galaxy Z Flip7. The powerful 8-core chipset is also rumoured to be joined by a 4,300 mAh battery capacity for a 300 mAh uplift over the Galaxy Z Flip6.

Motorola has just released a slew of new clamshell foldables, culminating in the Razr 60 Ultra with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This year's high-end Razr also moves to a 4,700 mAh battery, compared to the 4,000 mAh battery found in the Razr 50 Ultra. Motorola has added a trio of 50 MP cameras too, among other changes.

Based on recent rumours, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is about two and a half months away from being launched. In the meantime, PandaFlashPro has reiterated that the Galaxy Z Flip6 successor will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset rather than the Exynos 2500 or an equivalent. Apparently, this chipset is now set in stone, with Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy prototypes having now 'passed all internal tests'.

Meanwhile, Techmaniacs suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip's cover display will grow from 3.4-inches to 4-inches for its seventh-generation releases. In line with leaked renders, the website reiterates that the redesign will be joined by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, too. Apparently, Samsung will complement this more powerful chipset with a 4,300 mAh battery for a 300 mAh improvement over the Galaxy Z Flip6 (curr. $690 refurbished on Amazon). Unfortunately, the 50 MP and 12 MP external cameras of last year's model are set to return for another generation.
